Pramath Kiran hails from a musically inclined family. His father is a prolific composer and his mother a great music enthusiast. Being brought up in an atmosphere of art and culture, Pramath took to Music early in life. He started with learning Vocal under Smt.Vijayalakshmi of Bangalore. Discovering his inherent talent for Rhythm, Pramath was put under the tutelage of Vidwan Anoor Anathakrishna Sharma who guided him on the nuances of Laya.
Pramath developed into a creative Morching artiste with the guidance of his guru. His exposure to various Percussion ensembles enabled him to widen his horizons in the art of solo playing and accompaniment.
Having won several laurels right from his school and college days, Pramath has his own group called ‘Laya Taranga’ that exhibits a panorama of the rhythmic instruments of the world. Pramath has recorded several Cds along with this group.
Pramath has accompanied several stalwarts in the field of Carnatic music. The award for morching in the Gana Kala parishad, “Ananya Prathibe’ are only some of the many awards that he has won for his musicianship. Apart from being a Morching artiste, Pramath also plays the Tabla, Dolak and Djembe.

He soon started giving performances on the Tabla. Apart from the popular light music shows, Pramath performed in the Mainstream Hindustani concerts along with Shri.Praveen Godkindi, Shri.Fayaz Khan, Ravi Chari and the likes.
Pramath has also been featured with starwarts like Shri.S.P.Balasubramaniam and Shri.Hariharan. Having a strong Carnatic base and an aesthetic ear for the Tabla beat science; Pramath’s Tabla playing has a unique style that he is trying to develop further.

He has carved a niche for himself in the art of Rhythm management and weaves an intricate web of rhythm scape covering a wide range of instruments like:

He is one of the most sought after percussionist by most of the popular contemporary music bands. Having a keen sense of artistry, Pramath can play anything ranging from the purely classical to the purely folk.
His collaboration with the renowned danseuse Chitra Bolar of Chitralekha Dance Company has been raved about worldwide. He has been a part of several of their productions in the UK.
As a multi percussionist, he is featured regularly with renowned artistes like Ganesh Kumaresh, Amit Heri, Keith Peters, Rab Asaf, Jessi and the like. Pramath is also much sought after as a rhythm programmer by several Music Directors. He participates as a casual artiste in several audio and video recordings by various Music Directors.
